WHEELS

In keeping with the accurate replication of the Torero, there was no other choice but to have wheels that looked just like the originals. Due to the unacceptable cost of the original item (some £1,500 for each rear), an alternative had to be found but after much searching we realised that the only option was to contract a wheel manufacturer to make the cast alloy centres and polished alloy rims in the correct offset specifically for the Torero chassis. The end result is a split-rim wheel that whilst admittedly being heavier than the original magnesium item is at least visually identical and for a quarter of the cost. However, we can supply genuine wheels if required.

We commissioned the design of five styles of wheel: that of the original multihole Diablo, those of the 'SV' model which used a 5-spoke design, the 'SE' type which is similar to the Roadster but without the split rim design, the 'Roadster' type which is similar to the early Diablo but with the holes 'squared off' and lastly the '6.0' which was the wheel design found on the latest cars. All styles are available in either 17 or 18" diameters, or a combination of both which was found on the later Diablos before going to the all-round 18" setup of the 1999 onwards cars.

TYRES

Tyres are again identical in size to the original. For 17" fitment, fronts are 235/40 and rears are 335/35. If an 18" fitment is required then the profiles drop to 35 on the front and 30 on the rear to keep the rolling radius the same. Widths remain at 235 for the front and 335 for the rear. Choice of manufacturer is relatively limited for tyres of this size, but we have used Pirelli, Michelin and Goodyear in the past, with Pirelli being by far the most cost-effective although sometimes quite difficult to obtain.
