Due to the amount of new parts usually used for a Torero build (virtually all), a finished car can be registered as brand new if required. To date, every car and kit supplied by us has been done this way and indeed is the main reason why so many new parts are used and huge amounts of time were spent on designing a new chassis. The feeling of driving on a new registration rather than an age-related plate or even, heaven forbid, a 'Q' plate on a car such as a Torero is essential in our opinion. Notwithstanding this, it instills customer confidence if the vehicle they are driving has been built using all-new components rather than pulling parts off donor cars or from scrapyards as is often the case with 'kit' cars.
To qualify for a new registration one reconditioned component is allowed, and that will nearly always be the engine as it is the most expensive single item to buy new. In actual fact, the chassis is the most expensive single item but we can't use a reconditioned chassis as the car would then just take on the registration of the donor chassis.
The other benefit of being able to obtain a new registration is that a private plate can then be used if required, as can be seen on our silver demonstrator. Many of our customers are choosing this route as it furthers the appearance of being a genuine vehicle.
